An independent project

We are not the RetroPie team, its US branch, or an official Raspberry Pi partner. The upstream project built the software and documentation that make this work possible. Their name and history should remain attached to their contributions.

What we are building

A beginner-friendly companion: hardware choices, direct upstream downloads, clear setup guides, a learning center, troubleshooting and a transparent Pi 5 investigation. We intend to keep access free and may introduce optional donations later. No independent OS image is available yet.

Credit where it belongs

Thank you to the RetroPie maintainers and documentation contributors, Raspberry Pi, Debian, EmulationStation, RetroArch/libretro, emulator authors, and the broader community. Imported documentation retains its GPL license. Historical news is independently summarized and linked to the original publication.

Our working principles

• Publish exact versions, dates and evidence.
• Keep legacy guidance distinct from current Pi 5 instructions.
• Never present upstream achievements as our own releases.
• Contribute generally useful fixes back to the projects we depend on.
• Keep game and firmware distribution rights separate from emulator availability.
