What do the support labels mean?

Official Image

A RetroPie-controlled release image exists. Check its age and intended board.

Documented Install

An upstream installation guide exists. Read OS and age limitations.

Community / Advanced

An attributed community configuration exists; results apply to that configuration.

Experimental

Development or partial support. Not a dependable supported-release promise.

Not Verified

Insufficient evidence for a complete RetroPie setup.

“Official source” identifies who published a file. It does not turn an experimental build into a supported stable release. Source-review dates are separate from physical testing.
