Original website

Original website code, writing and interface artwork are provided under the MIT license. Imported documentation, upstream logos and disk-image components retain their own licenses and are excluded from that grant. Downloads are free; optional future donations do not change component terms.

Imported documentation

The 186 reference pages are adapted for display from RetroPie-Docs at revision 175f5b158f16938a39cad64f21db94496e320cbf. Copyright remains with the RetroPie project and its contributors. The repository’s GNU GPL version 3 license and upstream attribution metadata are included.

Every imported page links to its original Markdown source and upstream URL. Presentation changes include local link rewriting, sanitized HTML, heading anchors, and converting externally hosted illustrations to links. Original Markdown remains available. Imported source is not relicensed under the site’s original-content terms.

Images and other assets

Board illustrations, the site icon and interface styling are original project assets. The upstream documentation snapshot includes its original local illustrations and logo file as source material. RetroPie’s logo is credited to Florian Müller under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0; it is not used as this site’s brand. Retain any more specific notices on individual assets.

Upstream disk-image downloads

Image buttons link directly to the upstream publisher, including legacy releases and clearly labelled development builds. Software inside an image retains its own licenses, including components with noncommercial conditions. This companion does not claim ownership, relicense the bundle, or turn an experimental file into a supported release.

Read the source and license notice, the upstream legal page, and the licenses within the image. A setup-source archive alone is not the complete corresponding source for every bundled component. Resolve any additional source-distribution obligations before commercial distribution or a modified image release.

News and website copy

News archive entries are original summaries with dates and links to the original authors. They are not republished full articles or a copy of upstream’s forum. Sponsor, privacy, donation and contact text has not been transferred as if it described this independent project.

Games and firmware

This site does not provide commercial game collections, BIOS bundles, or instructions for obtaining unauthorized copies. A homebrew or freeware label alone does not establish redistribution permission. Use content you have the necessary rights to use.

This is not an official RetroPie release site and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the RetroPie project or Raspberry Pi Ltd. Raspberry Pi is a trademark of Raspberry Pi Ltd. The public name/domain remains subject to independent brand review; a disclaimer does not itself grant trademark rights.
