Troubleshooting

BIOS missing or rejected

An emulator reports missing firmware or refuses to start.

Start here

  1. Open the documentation for the selected emulator, not just the console name.
  2. Compare the required filename and directory, including letter case.
  3. If a checksum is provided, compare it with your legally obtained firmware.
  4. Restart the emulator after correcting the file placement.
What usually causes this?

Incorrect filename, location, version or file contents.

Advanced explanation

Renaming an unrelated file does not make the required firmware. This site does not provide BIOS bundles.
